MLSC High School Apprenticeship - looking for help in your lab this summer?
Department(s):
Pre-Collegiate OutreachThe Office of Pre-collegiate Outreach Programs hosts 20 high school interns each summer to work in labs across campus. Through the Massachusetts Life Sciences Center (MLSC) High School Apprenticeship Program, high school students are hosted from June 15 – August 7, 2020 and paid by MLSC. This program matches high school students with opportunities to promote technical knowledge and professional skills. MLSC pays the students $13 per hour, for a total reimbursement of up to $2,880 (240 hours) per intern. This is a great opportunity for both faculty and the students!
The Office of Pre-collegiate Outreach will provide administrative support, such a running a high school orientation, scheduling their lab safety training, setting up CORI checks, gathering liability forms, collecting emergency contact information, and paying the students. The faculty/lab manager would be responsible for working with the student with regards to tasks and their schedule.
If you are interested, please email Ryan Meadows (rnmeadows@wpi.edu) and he will send student applicant information.
