During the 30+ years she worked at WPI, Janet Begin Richardson, former vice president for student affairs and campus life, made a huge impact on student life. Among many other accomplishments, she played pivotal roles in the development of Founders Hall, East Hall, and the Rubin Campus Center, was a tireless advocate for diversity on campus and a champion for women students, and worked hand-in-hand with decades of student leaders.

For her dedication to improving and energizing life on WPI's campus, Janet will be presented with the Alumni Association's Goat's Head Award for Lifetime Commitment to WPI on September 24 at 6:30 PM, and we're asking our our WPI community to come together to honor Janet for all that she made possible for many generations of WPI students.

The Alumni Association’s Goat’s Head Award for Lifetime Commitment to WPI was created in 2010 to acknowledge an individual’s lifetime contributions to the WPI community at large, and reflects the friendship, support, and overall responsiveness to needs and interests that individual provided to students, parents, alumni, faculty, and staff over the years.

Register today to reserve your spot and check out the rest of the great virtual Homecoming programs that we're planning. We look forward to seeing you at Homecoming!

Want to share your well-wishes with Janet? Have a fun memory or photo to share with her? Send us something to include in her memory book here. Most content provided for the memory book will only be seen by alumni office staff and Janet and will not be shared publicly; however some messages or photos may be selected for inclusion in a slideshow for use during the presentation.

We're also creating a word cloud filled with words to describe Janet that will be included in the presentation event. Click here to add a word (or more than one!) that you believe describes Janet.
