The History of Business Education at WPI
Department(s):
The Business School
The passing of two beloved, long-time business school professors, Art Gerstenfeld and Helen Vassalo, motivated Rev. Dean Jackson's desire to capture the business school's history before access to details were out of reach. So she established an IQP on the history of Business Education at WPI and interviewed a number of students to take it on. Mehmet Seyda Usalan '25, Victoria Grasso '25 and Aiden Callahan '25 were selected and went to work.
For their project they did extensive research on the business school's history and interviewed both present and past business school leadership. Recently they presented their findings for the IQP to the Business School faculty and special guest, Mayor of the City of Worcester, Joseph Petty.
Their IQP will be visualized in an installation this fall on a wall opposite the Huong Higgins Lab on the second floor of Washburn.
