Graduate and Undergraduate Applications are Open for the Women's Research and Mentorship Program
Department(s):
Pre-Collegiate OutreachThe Women’s Research and Mentorship Program (WRAMP) is for young women interested in exploring STEM research with positive female role models who are successful in STEM. It is a multi-tiered program whereby six research/mentoring teams are formed each semester, including two high school students, one WPI graduate student, and one WPI undergraduate student.
Teams meet weekly and work on a project as outlined by the graduate mentor. Additionally, all participants attend two Saturday sessions, which are designed to empower women through workshops including Imposter Syndrome, Confidence, Failure/Growth Mindset, Resume Writing, the College Application Process, and more. Graduate and undergraduate mentors take part in two training sessions before the program begins, covering topics such as mentoring, teaching strategies, case studies, and DEI. Participants gain valuable life skills and confidence to succeed.
All teams present their project work and program impact at a closing presentation and poster session. Required program dates are noted on the application.
The Application for graduate and undergraduate mentors is now open and will close at 11:59 PM on Thursday, August 31, 2023
