Gordon Library will temporarily suspend print course and textbook reserves services for A and B terms in Fall 2020
Department(s):
George C. Gordon LibraryTo protect our community’s health and support our students, Gordon Library will temporarily suspend print course and textbook reserves services for A and B terms in Fall 2020. We’ve made this decision based on two factors:
- Because a significant number of WPI students will be learning remotely, the most equitable way to deliver course reserves is electronic.
- Because research-based studies recommend a 72-hour quarantine period for returned printed materials, it is not practical for the library to lend course reserves to students In person.
Instead, the library is providing an expanded electronic course reserves service that includes providing a list of digital course materials for A Term classes, acquiring digital course materials, identifying alternative library or open content, and providing access to scanning equipment and limited scanning services.
For more information, please see our online guide to course reserves, and contact our course reserves team at lib-reserve@wpi.edu.
