Food for Thought: Active learning in Online Environments

There has been plenty of promising research fueling a shift towards using active learning strategies in the physical classroom, but how can we extend the methodology into the online environment?  This session will focus on sharing and discussing strategies to use in synchronous online class sessions and taking advantage of the affordances of asynchronous activities.  While the focus is not on specific technology tools, we will provide basic insight into using features within WPI-supported tools, such as Canvas and Zoom, to facilitate online active learning opportunities in your class.
