Employee Sessions on Suicide Prevention with Experts from Riverside Trauma Center

Division of Talent & InclusionWPI employees are invited to attend one of three 90-minute, informal and interactive sessions on suicide prevention. The sessions will be led by Dr. Larry Berkowitz and James McCauley, LICSW from the Riverside Trauma Center, a trauma response organization that specializes in support services, including on-site response, grief counseling, suicide prevention and intervention, and trauma and loss counseling. Both Larry and James have over 20 years of experience working with various at-risk populations and have presented at statewide, national, and international conferences on suicide prevention.

Sessions will follow the following format:
- start with some context – understanding the complexity of the issues and efforts that WPI continues to engage;
- a discussion about recognizing personal impacts and the importance of self-care;
- tools, approaches, and resources; and
- Q&A.
