Cybersecurity Education Using KnowBe4

Information Technology ServicesThis message was emailed by Vijay Menta and LeeAnn LeClerc to WPI Employees and Students on January 29, 2025
Dear WPI Staff, Faculty, and Students,
We hope this message finds you well. As part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards of security, we are kicking off the second cybersecurity campaign for this academic year. Education will be offered using the KnowBe4 platform, the same one used earlier this year. KnowBe4 specializes in promoting cybersecurity awareness through online education and simulated phishing campaigns. The phishing campaigns send fake emails designed to gauge whether our community members fall victim to phishing tactics or not. The campaign results will help ITS identify how our organization is likely to react when a real phishing attack occurs, and how to further promote best practices.
- Email with instructions will be sent via the KnowBe4 platform. The sender will appear as: Information Technology Services <its@wpi.edu>; (Information Technology Services via training.knowbe4.com).
- Sign in to https://training.knowbe4.com/ using your WPI credentials.
- Complete the educational module by the deadline specified in KnowBe4 on the Training tab.
We appreciate your cooperation to participate in the education, and report phishing attempts to phishing@wpi.edu. Being able to recognize malicious email attempts to gain sensitive business and personal information is key to securing WPI’s data. By staying informed about security best practices, we can collectively enhance the security of our university.
Best regards,
Vijay Menta, Vice President and Chief Information Officer
LeeAnn LeClerc, Chief Information Security & Technology Officer
