Interactive Media & Game DevelopmentThis Wednesday, October 2nd at 8PM, IMGD faculty and students will be performing in a free, all-ages event downtown. At Algoraves, performers take turns creating algorithmic music and visuals. Most performances consist of *live coding*, where the music and visuals are programmed live on stage, and the source code is projected for audience members to follow. We have four IMGD faculty and affiliated faculty (myself, Gillian Smith, Scott Barton, and Rodney DuPlessis), a WPI Computational Media PhD student (Darren Cole), and guest faculty from MIT performing next Wednesday at the Worcester PopUp, right off the main square downtown. Musical robots will make an appearance, along with lots of custom software developed here at WPI.
If you’re into strange music / art—or maybe even want to dance?—come on by! Free entry, all ages very very welcome, and drinks will be available for purchase. Doors will open at 7:45.
