The following message was sent on June 20, 2024 to all employees from Hilary Clark, Associate Vice President, Talent Operations.

Dear Staff Colleagues,

Today, we are launching the 2024 Staff Performance Review Process. This process covers performance for the period of April 1, 2023, through June 1, 2024. You will receive a notification in your Workday inbox shortly requesting you to initiate this process by completing your self-evaluation, where you can showcase your proudest contributions, pinpoint any performance challenges, identify opportunities for enhancing effectiveness and efficiency, and communicate your professional development interests to your manager.

As previously communicated, this process was recently updated as part of our continued efforts to enhance our Performance Management Program. All staff members and managers are expected to participate fully in this interactive process, intentionally reflecting on the past year and planning for the year ahead.

 Outlined below are some important next steps and completion dates:

  • STEP 1 - Self-Evaluation: Staff members fill out the “Employee Self-Evaluation” in their Workday inbox. This self-evaluation aims to showcase achievements from the past year and provides an opportunity for staff to offer suggestions and feedback to your manager. After submission, the self-evaluation will be forwarded to your direct manager for the next step. Staff members should complete their self-evaluation by July 31, 2024.
     
  • STEP 2 - Performance Review & Meeting: Managers will complete a “Performance Review” form in Workday and meet with each direct report. The form contains sections for the manager to comment on overall job performance and important competencies and highlight both strengths and areas for development. Performance review meetings should be conducted one-on-one to discuss achievements, identify growth opportunities, and set goals.
     
  • STEP 3 - Manager Edits and Approves Performance Review: After the staff member and manager have met to discuss the performance review, the manager will make any necessary edits and approve the "Performance Review" form. Managers should complete performance reviews for each of their direct reports by August 30, 2024.
     
  • STEP 4 - Employee Acknowledgement: A completed "Performance Review" form will be sent to each staff member’s Workday inbox for acknowledgment. This gives staff the opportunity to add comments. Once acknowledged, the performance review process is complete. Please complete this step by September 6, 2024.

We know summer is usually the time when many of you take some well-deserved paid time off, and we built the schedule above to allow ample time to complete the process. If you expect to need additional time, please reach out to your Talent Strategy Partner or to Learning and Development.

Talent & Inclusion will host several performance management workshops, below, to support this process. In addition, department heads may set up department-specific workshops, as needed.
