What
Masque, the theatre organization at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI), will perform Six Degrees of Separation, John Guare's poignant play which won the New York Drama Critics Circle Award and the Obie Award for Best Play in 1990. The play will be directed by Catherine Carrigan.
Ousia and Flan Kittredge, a high-society couple, live in New York City, where their only worries are dining in the right restaurants, knowing the right people, and being able to sell the next painting. One night a captivating stranger walks into their lives. Paul's charisma draws them in. He soon shows, however, that he is not who he appears to be. His lies and stories connect Ousia and Flan, their children, and other, seemingly random people in ways they would never have thought. Paul’s desires and beliefs prove that everyone is connected by "six degrees of separation."
Who
WPI Masque stages two productions every year: a major presentation in the fall and a smaller one during the winter. Each spring, Masque also hosts the New Voices Festival, one of country’s longest continuously running university new play festivals. In addition to Masque, cast and crew members also participate in the productions of the M.W. Repertory Theatre Company, a local unaffiliated theatre troupe started by WPI students in 1988. M.W. Repertory produces two plays each season.

$4 for students and $9 for general public. A Valentine’s Special, roses, chocolates, and two tickets, is available for $20 for students and $25 for the general public.
