The Business Resilience and Climate Change Lab focuses on the critical role businesses play in addressing climate change in an efficient, equitable, and impactful manner. Recognizing that successful climate action is only possible when businesses are actively involved, the lab supports research aimed at fostering sustainable and resilient practices. Through its research activities, the lab seeks to drive impactful, just, and expedited actions that contribute to effective climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies.

Dr. Michael Elmes has published over 50 papers on diverse topics, including organizational change, classroom and organizational learning, dissent in organizations, high-altitude mountaineering, environmental management, enterprise system implementation, and social entrepreneurship. His work often utilizes non-realist perspectives, including critical, critical realist, narrative, and dramaturgical frameworks. Recently, Dr. Elmes has focused on social innovation and ethical sensemaking in food banks, inequality within the industrial food system, sensemaking and identity in organizational change, social drama, and the role of place in environmental management and social innovation.
