Rental Properties

Housing for Graduate Students

Short-term rental (not to exceed 24 months) is available in property owned by WPI and located adjacent to our campus. These units include houses as well as apartments and rooms located in two- and three-decker apartment buildings.

Use of these properties is restricted to housing for faculty, staff, or graduate students only. They are offered as a courtesy to provide temporary housing to graduate students who will leave after graduating or to faculty or staff who need time to survey the area and relocate more permanently in the community. Most of these homes or apartments are located on the south side of Institute Road.

These properties are rented to tenants with the understanding that they will vacate the unit generally within two years. Availability of apartments is not guaranteed. For information regarding the wait list for houses or apartments, please contact our Facilities Customer Service Center at 508-831-5500. We will not be creating a wait list for any potential vacancies until after June 1st 2008.

Housing for Faculty, Staff, and All Students

Another WPI-owned property is Salisbury Estates, which is a 100-unit apartment complex located on Park Avenue on the north side of the campus. These are spacious two-bedroom, two-story townhouses, and they house many WPI faculty, staff, and students. The manager of Salisbury Estates is Maureen Burke, who can be reached at 1-508-798-0456, or 1-508-752-7633 (fax), or email her at esta@charterinternet.com.

Housing for Undergraduate Students

Undergraduate student housing is the responsibility of Residential Services. Housing includes on-campus dormitories and the Apartment-Finder, which is a listing of apartments located off-campus. This listing can be found on the RSO web site or by calling the Residential Services offices at 508-831-5645.
