Learn techniques that you can apply to any number of databases, whether they are library catalogs, periodical databases, or search engines like Google
After completing this module you should be able to:
- Come up with the best search terms and choose the best tool to search
- Understand the difference between keyword and subject searching
- Use boolean operators to create a successful search string and understand when to use them
- Understand when to use and what happens if you search by field or phrase and/or use truncation in a search
- Successfully limit a search to retrieve those records that are most relevant
- Customize search results and e-mail or save results for later use.
